Peimin Lou

Lou Peimin is a Research Professor at the Institute of Information Sciences, and the Director of Center for Regional Development Studies of Shanghai Academy of Social Sciences. She also serves as the evaluation expert for the urbanization project of the Department of Management Sciences National Natural Science Foundation of China.

Her main areas of research include Land Policy; Urbanization and Social Structure Transformation; Survey and Analysis Statistics and Cyber-sociology. She has conducted several research on the peasant affected by land requisition and urbanization through large sample survey and case study, including: projects “China’s Urbanization and the Modernization of its Rural Areas,” “Urbanization of Pudong and Some Issues Regarding the Effected Peasants,” “Research on the employment of ‘Shi Di Nong Min’ in Outskirt of Shanghai,” “Land Requisition and Settlement for the Effected Peasants in China’s Urbanization,” and “Research on the income employment of ‘Shi Di Nong Min’ in China’s Urbanization Process”.
